-
Anyone interested in volunteering must complete a Volunteer Application. The application is also available at each
school location.
-
Volunteer Applicants can indicate if they are interested in a particular school or if they are available
district-wide. Applicants may also indicate if they have a particular function, sport or class in which
they are interested.
-
Completed Volunteer Applications are submitted to designated site personnel who will complete the
“School Site Office Use Only” section of the application, complete reference checks, and return the
completed Volunteer Application to the Human Resources Department.
-
Once the completed Volunteer Application has been returned to HR, the applicant will be contacted to
finalize the process. The applicant should expect to receive an email or a phone call from Human
Resources to schedule a fingerprinting appointment, if applicable. *If the applicant holds a valid
AZDPS issued fingerprint clearance card, a front and back copy of the card should be attached to the
application before forwarding to the Human Resources Department.*
-
All volunteers must be fingerprinted prior to being on-site. Fingerprinting, for which DPS charges a $20
processing fee, is done at the district office. The volunteer application and fingerprints will be considered
valid for up to four (4) years from date of fingerprinting. The applicant’s valid AZDPS- issued
fingerprint clearance card and volunteer application will be considered valid for six (6) years from date
of fingerprinting. The District reserves the right to re-fingerprint a volunteer at any time. The fee for
fingerprinting is payable by money order or cashier’s check.
-
Upon receipt of fingerprint clearance, site personnel will be notified of applicant approval, an updated
Volunteer List will be sent to all sites, and the site of application will notify the volunteer of their ‘good
to go’ status. Fingerprint Clearance from the Department of Public Safety can take approximately 4-6
weeks, so please plan accordingly.
-
Volunteers will report to the Site Administrative Office for assignment and will log in and out each day
of service.
-
Parents or Guardians who are noted to be red badge will be allowed to volunteer only in their child’s
classroom. They cannot be asked to accompany other students out of the classroom. They cannot be left
alone with other students in the absence of the teacher.
-
Red badge volunteers may be allowed to go on field trips with their child at the Principal’s discretion and
at their own expense. However, teachers will not allow red badge volunteers to be placed in an
unsupervised situation with other students. Red badge volunteers will need to provide their own
transportation to and from events.
-
All Volunteers must be supervised by a Coolidge Unified School District Employee.
